A Cambridge Associates poll reveals that private investments remain highly attractive to Asian investors, with 90% of respondents currently allocating funds to this asset class and nearly 75% planning to increase their allocations in the next year.
The poll, conducted among institutional investors, private clients, and family offices in Singapore and Hong Kong, highlights growth equity and private credit as the top strategies for institutional investors, while venture capital is favored by private clients and family offices.
Geographical diversification is also a priority, with most respondents keen to boost investments in the U.S.
Vish Ramaswami, head of Asia Pacific private investments at Cambridge Associates, highlights the potential for private assets to outperform public markets over the long term, despite a recent reset. It is a "complex and fragmented market to navigate", he said, emphasizing the importance of selecting the right managers to deliver returns.
